FAQs

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What can I expect at my first massage appointment?

Prior to your appointment, please fill out the intake form sent to your email. At the beginning of the treatment we will discuss your health history, areas of concern and your goals for treatment. I will provide an assessment and together we will create an appropriate treatment plan. From there we will begin the massage treatment which will be followed by some home care.

What should I wear for my treatment?

Dress down to your level of comfort. Typically a massage incorporates the application of oil/lotion directly to the skin, however I can adapt using alternate techniques that work through clothing and accommodate your privacy. I only undrape the area being treated, so your body will be mostly covered throughout the duration of the treatment.

How often should I get a massage treatment?

This is completely dependant on your condition, goals and the treatment plan that is created. If you have an acute injury you could expect to receive treatment once or twice a week for the first couple of weeks, and then re-evaluate.  If you are just looking for preventative treatments for maintenance, booking every 4-6 weeks is common. However some people with chronic pain prefer every 1-2 weeks.

Do I need a doctors referral?

Some insurance companies do require a doctor referral. If you are unsure, contact them directly prior to your massage appointment.

Something came up and I need to cancel my appointment. What's your cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel your appointment please provide a minimum of 24 hours notice or the FULL amount of your treatment will be charged. If you are unable to cancel online, please send me a text and NOT an email, as I will get notified sooner. (604) 317-6617

I have a claim with WCB or ICBC. Do you bill them directly?

I do not direct bill to WCB or ICBC. If you have an open claim, you will need to pay for the treatment in full, and then be reimbursed from WCB or ICBC.

How many appointments will I get with my extended benefit plan?

All benefit plans have different coverage for each individual. You will need to contact your insurance company directly for this information.
